Our Purpose

Honor Andrew's memory and affect positive change in a child with cancer.

Wendy, Matt and Olivia, along with all their family members, wanted to bring about something positive to honor Andrew’s memory and his deep desire to help others. Just as Andrew’s gift of life through the donation of his organs affected change in many lives, the opportunity to affect positive change in a child with cancer was going to be the mission of The ADE Foundation. It just needed an idea with which to create a focal point. So, the family turned back to Dell, which had been part of their lives and Andrew’s for so long.

Provide dedicated mental healthcare services for children in Survivorship.

Through a collaboration with doctors, psychologists, administrative personnel and the Dell Children’s Foundation, it was determined that one of the most pressing and achievable needs was dedicated mental healthcare services for children who were in post-treatment or as it’s called, Survivorship. In this instance, it meant creating a full time Clinical Psychologist position within the CBCC to provide mental healthcare services to these children. This position had not existed before and the hospital had to create it from scratch. The ADE Foundation jumped at the opportunity as did Dell Children’s to which they created the job description, performed a national search and hired Dr. Beverly Bernal, PsyD as the Children’s Blood and Cancer Survivorship Psychologist.

Raise funds annually to support and maintain the Clinical Psychologist position for the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center.

The ADE Foundation proudly made its first donation for the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center Psychologist’s position on December 30th, 2022. The Foundation’s main purpose and focus will be to raise funds annually to support and provide the funding needed to maintain this vital role.
